Kit building manual
Our kits allow to make maximum
of finishing work before you start to assemble a model. You can paint and finish
each detail including body separately that makes the process more convenient.
All you need after all the parts are ready is just put them together.
Although our kits are far easier to
assemble than etched brass ones, you should have basic experience in painting
and kit building.
Here we give short descriptions
with photos of the main kits assembling stages.
*Attention! All
details have to be primed with a special undercoat to cover the surface
before it can he painted. For our models we use the primer of PPG type D834.

Glue recommendations
For gluing kit parts,
except
windows,
we use superglue with ethylcynoacralate
basis. For windows and windows' bars we use a glue with polyurethane basis,
making it more liquid by solvent. It is very important not to use glue
containing cynoacralate (as superglue) for gluing windows and window's bars
because it would
make
them fog.
Adding the interior details after the
windows are installed could
also have this effect
if the body stays closed. That's why after applying interior
details inside the body we recommend to stay it open lying on the roof at least
24 hours to let the fog evaporate.
Tips: to
avoid soiling of details by extra glue it is convenient to put a drop of glue on
some independent surface and apply it on work surface by some thin stick.

Bogie
assembling
The bogie
consists of a basis, side frames, wheels with washers, brake blocks, a bolster
and a screw with a washer.
First,
paint all bogie details separately.
Then install wheels with washers. To do that, remove one wheel from the
axle. After the wheels are installed, glue the brake blocks down at the bogie
basis, but make sure they don’t prevent wheels from spinning. The brake
blocks with holes should be installed at the bogie ends with rods imitation.
Finally, glue the side frames at their places and the bogie is ready.

Underframe
Assemble the
truss rod construction as it is shown on the photos.
Insert the underframe basis in the body and drill fixing holes noticing the
right underframe position for future installation. Fix the basis by two screws
and place the truss rods in the center of the underframe. Drill the fixing
holes. After that has been done, remove the basis. Now prime and
paint all underframe components and glue a battery box and a regulator.

Body
Painting
order.
Prime the body inside. We recommend two layers of primer and a layer of opaque
paint between them. Then, paint the ceiling, the walls and internal side of solebars. Next, mask the ready inner surface by masking tape and prime the body
outside. After priming paint the roof, ends, sides and solebars. When the body
is painted, remove all masks and transfer the decals. Here we recommend to
apply varnish on body sides to protect the transfers.

Windows
As it was said in glue recommendations,
for
windows and windows' bars we use a glue with polyurethane basis, making it more
liquid by solvent. When windows are ready to
assemble put the glue
along the edges of a window as it is shown
in the pictures etc. You can
also apply the glue using any other convenient tool. Then
do the same on
the window's place inside the body and wait for some minutes. After that install the
window on its place and press the edges. If the window has a bar, glue it in the
same way.

Interior
Place lamps down
the centre of ceiling.
Before installing the interior, prepare and assemble toilets, partitions, seats
and tables as it is shown on the photos below. Put in toilets and interior
partitions, then seats and tables.
Install and screw painted underframe basis in the body.
As it was mentioned in glue recommendations
after applying interior details inside the body we recommend to stay it open
lying on the roof at least 24 hours to let the fog of glue evaporate to avoid
its condensation on the windows.

Ends
Place assembled and painted gangways on the ends.
Fit the train alarm on one end of the coach. Then install buffers and end
fittings, see photo.
*Note that after the ends are finished the model needs very careful handling.

|
 |
Underframe assemblage
Put the painted truss rod
construction on the basis and fix it by screws. Then, install gas cylinders and
other underframe fittings as it is shown on photos. Next go couplings and
bogies.

 |
Body
fittings
The last thing you have to do is to place body
fittings (roof vents, handles and footboards). The position of roof vents is
marked on the roof, just glue painted vents on their positions. The handles and
footsteps should be also fastened by glue to their places.
